UNDERSTANDINGSOCIETY is an academic blog where I post some current thinking about issues in the philosophy of social science and social change. Topics include the philosophy of social science, social causation, the philosophy of history, globalization, and social justice.
The blog is aimed at scholars, students, and other professionals who share interests in the foundations of the social sciences and the philosophy of history. I hope that these topics will attract participants from Asia, Africa, North and South America, the Middle East, and Europe who are able to bring the perspectives of their societies into the discussion.
